Tanggula Mountain Battle Post No.1 Road Worker Station (5000m) to Amdo (4800m) is a total distance of 78KM climb via TuoJuLa pass (5170m). After that, you are embracing a gentle descending all the way to Amdo.
Snowstorm has become the theme for the past few days and it has became a good friend of ours. We thought snowstorm is definitely better than trucks flying by you and towards you. To brace our snowstorm friend, lower your head, watch your front, hear the traffic, keep pedalling and most importantly, keep smiling (and panting)!
Today I would like to introduce you another teammate of mine, John from Ireland. He is the JOY of this trip. Humorous, considerate and a true inspiration in difficult times. Always at the back cheering for us occasionally. He will speed up to lead the team, at his own pace with his tag line “I am absorbing the beauty of the land”.
You will never imagine what he will do next, like stop by a nomad on a horse asking for an exchange of rides. Don't got surprise if you see him chasing you on horse back.
John is a hardcore mountaineer, before this trip he has scaled a mountain of more than 8000m in the Himalayan ranges.
No.1 road worker station provides free accommodation and hot water for cyclists. Kind and friendly, don't forget to give them a hug before you leave.
